Friday Morning

A quick drive across the Missouri River into the Iowa bottom plains. The minute we stepped into the field I knew it was a good decision to explore the I-29 corridore.

DOZENS of hens and Darlin` (my GSP) is acting really classy with the pointing. The wind is just right to facilitate this. A 7 month old German Shorthair acting like a fucking veteran.

My father in law is up from Montana, and we walk a nicely mowed and not so brutal draw. The dog freezes up and slams into a classic point. Seconds later a cackling ringneck explodes into a flush, due east, and i draw and wing him.

John pulls up and closes the deal with his Citori all over the roosters back. Dead bird.

It was a perfect morning again in the northern plains and it was only 9am.
